[Movies] Jack The Giant Slayer Movie Review

Watched "Jack The Giant Slayer" last night at IMAX. The movie is a story of an ancient war that is reignited when a young farm boy accidentally opens a gateway between our world and a fearsome race of giants. Unleashed on the Earth for the first time in centuries, the giants strive to reclaim the land they once lost, forcing the young farm boy, Jack (Nicholas Hoult) into the battle of his life to stop them. Fighting for a kingdom, its people, and the love of a brave princess, he comes face to face with the unstoppable warriors he thought only existed in legend-and gets the chance to become a legend himself.

Directed by the acclaimed filmmaker, Bryan Singer, the movie is a 3D action adventure “Jack the Giant Slayer,” which was originally named Jack the Giant Killer stars Nicholas Hoult as Jack. The film also stars Eleanor Tomlinson as Princess Isabelle; Stanley Tucci as the deceitful Roderick; Ian McShane as Isabelle’s father, the besieged King Brahmwell; Bill Nighy as General Fallon, the ferocious two-headed leader of the giant army; and Ewan McGregor as the loyal knight Elmont.

Watching Ewan McGregor and Nicholas Hoult was just so easy on the eyes. Throw in the beautiful Elanor Tomlinson and you got my attention.  I can't help but notice that she somehow resembles a little of Miranda Kerr (younger one).

The movie has a good story telling, especially on the first part. Its thrilling and I guess smart. A Singer version of your grandfather's Jack and The Beanstalk is surely ready and just there if you just let yourself loose on the store and in the movie effects. Since I watched it on IMAX, I expected that I'd be treated with some good 3D effects and that I'd be able to fully experience the giants up close. I think that they fell short on this one, although there are some notable 3D shots on some of the action scenes.

This fantasy adventure is something to look forward to this weekend. It delivers great fun and a thrilling adventure to viewers and fans out there. Indeed something to look at. Give it a try and lets see if you'll have fun... I know I did. :)

“Jack the Giant Slayer” is now showing in 3D and on IMAX 3D
