"Hello Aranetaaaaaaaaaa!!!" Yes, we've said those two words at least once and for years now, The Smart Araneta Coliseum has given us great and iconic moments in sports and entertainment throughout the years. Now, let me break down a few. Black Eyed Peas, Maroon 5, Kylie Minogue, Lady Gaga, Lifehouse, Incubus, of course the most famous "Thrilla in Manila" and notable "NBA Ultimate All-Star Weekend". These show are just some of the more than 250 events of the Big Dome a year and they are not stopping or not even slowing down.
Their aim now is the unique viewing experience, and with the extreme transformation and i say EXTREME. The Smart Araneta Coliseum being a glorious heritage and with the state of the art venue features, Indeed this transformation is for the extreme viewer pleasure. So as what Michael Noah who is the COO of United Promotions Inc. (Smart Araneta Colisum) shared “The Extreme Transformation of the Big Dome begins with the majestic façade and interiors of the new Green Gate. The Green Gate welcomes everyone to state –of-the-art features starting with the larger entrance, improved kiosks for retail, scanners at the turnstiles for quicker and more efficient audience entry, and a concourse with LED signages, climate controlled space and video systems.”
Noah further explains,
“The transformation gets even more exciting when the customer enters the coliseum and approaches his new seat. There will be new flooring, ceilings, lighting and seats for viewer comfort. There will also be more rest rooms with newer features. ”
The coliseum seating has also changed with the ideal elevation. You won't get the steep feeling and fear of falling over the edge. :) Now I said experience so here it goes, for convenience, parking and access to the mall with great retail store and restaurant to choose from is definitely a perk. You won't have to walk far to access the parking, mall and the coliseum. Through the new parking building’s second and third levels, customers can enter the coliseum and to their respective sections with ease. Oh and there will be escalators from the Big Dome that will transport the customers to the award-winning Gateway Mall and the upcoming Gateway Tower.
Well, the viewers are not the only on to benefit on the extreme transformation, the athletes, performers and promoters are in for a treat! New lighting, the acoustics, floor and everything are excellent and at par with the world's best venue. New locker room and holding area for media equipped with technological tools for their news.
By the sound of all these, it looks all promising and really good for our Big Dome. With a transformation as extreme as that, there is no doubt that just like the Madison Square Garden, the Big Dome will continue to be the cultural icon of the country.
