Lucky Chinatown now Open!

Another mall in the metro has officially opened its doors, and guess where? Well I guess you know that already. Lucky Chinatown from Megaworld's latest development, simply is stunning and really good! :) Who would have though that a high end mall would fit right in Chinatown's center for bargain shopping?

I recently attended the formal opening of the said mall and even though the rain can't be stopped, so is Lucky Chinatown. People and media's were there as they await for the arrival of VIP executive and also the arrival of the president of the Philippines, Benigno S. Aquino III.

The event was hosted by Tim Yap and Ms. Tessa Prieto Valdez.

After the dotting of the dragon's eye by the president, the opening had some performances and some shadow play which are really nice. It has been a while since I've watched one of those. :) Really nice.

After the shadow play, there was a short fashion show by some of the brands of Lucky Chinatown.

The 108,000 square meter development is the latest offering from Megaworld Lifestyle Malls, bringing with it five levels of top-class shopping, dining, and a deep appreciation for Binondo’s Filipino-Chinese heritage. Accompanying the mall is the Chinatown Walk, an exciting street development recreating the Chinatown of old, complete with pre-Spanish era-inspired architecture and authentic Chinese stores and establishments.

The stores at Lucky Chinatown are constantly adding something new to the experience. Imported and local brands like Mango, Folded & Hung, Cotton On, Oxygen, and Gap welcome customers with an array of fashionable apparel catering to both metropolitan and casual lifestyles. Familiar international names like Payless, Aldo, Sperry, Clark’s, and Charles & Keith are also included in Lucky Chinatown’s star-studded lineup.
Lucky Chinatown also have four top-notch cinemas, the highlight of which is Cinema 1 and its roomy, comfy Emperor Twin seats. Also has the 3-D film viewing with two state-of-the-art 3-D cinemas complete with crystal-clear Dolby Digital Surround Sound.

One thing I alos liked there is the Chinatown Walk, Reall nice, since it basically replicates the unique experience of Chinatowns from all over the world, you'd feel also that you're in another country. But there's still a distinctly Filipino feel to it. The restaurants at the walk offer food from a wide variety of Chinese regional cuisines and otjer Chinese delicatessen. Another one to look forward to is the popular franchise making a comeback to its roots in Binondo is Keean’s Fried Siopao, whose irresistible fried buns have traveled as far as Cavite since the 1980’s.

Fiance told me, this mall has become one of her favorite malls now. Not only is it close to our future home but just incase we want to go to Resort's World Manila, they have a shuttle there every 30 minutes! Now isn't that convenient!

With Lucky Chinatown, Megaworld Lifestyle Malls brings fantastic new choices and experiences, inspiring lifestyles of all kinds in the heart of Binondo. Its unique blend of metropolitan modernity and heritage promise to enrich the lives of residents and visitors alike for years to come.

Lucky Chinatown is located at Reina Regente St. corner Dela Reina St., Binondo, Manila. The mall is open from 10AM to 10PM
