My Power Up challenge for a month... 'The Great Burn'

0
There's going to the gym, running, boxing, badminton, swimming and there's indoor rock climbing. Now if you are going to rate these activities which one would be your least? If you are going to rate it as an extreme sport, which would be on the top of your list? Well indoor rock climbing has been on that list ever since, but for others, is is as simple as the test of the mind through the perfection of movement.

There are so many ways to enjoy the activity, be it with your friends and families or just enjoying the climb itself. I had the privilege to sit down and have a chat with Mr. Joey Cuerdo and the team of Power Up Center For Climbing for the program "THE GREAT BURN" where me and my blogger friends are about to undergo. But even before they talked about the program, they shared to us the benefits of climbing and why it is better than your exercise regimen now. :)

Indoor wall climbing has been set aside because of some fitness activities what have been a trend lately but now, the group feels that this is the time for indoor wall climbing to be noticed. Why? because this is a great and exciting way to get fit.

An average male weighing 190 pounds (86 kg) is 986 calories, in one hour of rock climbing or an average of 16 cal./min, while an average female weiging 163 pounds (74 kg) is 813 Calories in an hour or 14 Cal. / min. And just to compare, running 8.5km/hour (10km in 1 hour 10mins) will burn 800 calories for 190lbs.

Get the math? I hope you do. because the basic science of losing weight and getting fit is a combination of eating fewer calories and burning calories through physical activity.
