Pantene’s Healthy Hair for Healthy Water campaign commits to provide children all over Asia with safe drinking water

I attended an event of Procter and Gamble (P&G) about their campaign to provide safe drinking water all over Asia. It was a great cause and a good mission. Pantene, the leading hair care brand of Procter and Gamble (P&G) campaigns to give children safe drinking water launching the "Healthy Hair for Healthy Water" Campaign.

The "Healthy Hair for Healthy Water" will support the P&G Children’s Safe Drinking Water (CSDW) Program. This has been aa long-term global advocacy program that focuses on reducing sickness and death that result from water-borne illnesses caused by drinking contaminated water.

In a nutshell Pantene with P&G's CSDW program will provide 10 Million Liters of water to Asian communities in need. (Philippines, Thailand and Indonesia). You ask how? by making a pledge. 'You pledge for HEALTHY HAIR and P&G will donate HEALTHY WATER. The group is targeting 10,000,000 liters.
Pantene gives Filipinos a chance to donate 1 day of clean drinking water through online pledges at the Pantene facebook page (www.facebook.com/PantenePhilippines).

One of the people that made this possible is Dr. Greg Allgood, Director of the P&G CSDW Program is excited to have Pantene strengthen the campaign in the Philippines - Dr. Allgood said that Pantene Healthy Hair for Healthy Water program will provide more than 17 million days of clean drinking water during the next year through this program – that’s 34 million liters of clean water for more than 25,000 of the most vulnerable people living in remote areas with only contaminated water sources.

Clint Navales the P&G’s External Relations Leader, agrees with Dr. Allgood’s sentiments as he gives more details about the campaign - “Our goal is to be able to get 10,000,000 pledges all over Asia so we would like to invite Filipinos to support our campaign by visiting the Pantene Facebook page and giving their pledge.  We’ve seen through recent calamities how difficult it is to have access to something as basic as clean drinking water, and also how important clean water is to prevent disease in these situations. With the Pantene Healthy Hair Healthy Water campaign, you now not only get healthy hair, but you help give a child good health through clean drinking water”.

The P&G CSDW Program was launched in 2004 using a powdered water-purification technology developed in collaboration with the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. One small packet quickly turns 10 liters of dirty, potentially deadly water into clean, drinkable water.

The P&G CSDW Program works with more than 120 partners globally to respond to the greatest needs for clean water. Clean drinking water has been provided in over 65 developing countries.

In the Philippines, P&G’s CSDW was able to donate clean water to communities hit by Sendong. Done in partnership with World Vision, P&G was able to distribute 600,000 water purification packets to Sendong survivors, including more than 500 families in Mandulog and nearby communities, which was one of the areas hardest hit by the typhoon in Iligan.

of clean, safe drinking water made possible by PUR.
Through the Pantene Healthy Hair for Healthy Water program, P&G hopes to further the campaign to touch more lives and improve life for the people who need it the most. “I’m very grateful to P&G and  World Vision Philippines for the work they’re doing to reach the most vulnerable people in very remote places where clean drinking water will make a big difference in improving and likely saving lives.“ Dr. Allgood emphasizes.

This is a very good opportunity for you to be able to help other people giving them safe drinking water. Make sure to visit Pantene facebook page (www.facebook.com/PantenePhilippines) and go to this tab. You can pledge directly here https://apps.facebook.com/pantenehwphil/

Let us all help spread the word, and show our support. PLEDGE PLEDGE PLEDGE!!!
