Mabuhay Germany 2011 is about the reaffirmation of stronger ties between German and Philippine Communities. The celebration took place last October 7-9, 2011 at the Bonifacio High Street in Bonifacio Global City, Taguig City.
For years, the German-Philippine Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Inc. (GPCCI) has been celebrating the affiliation between Germany and the Philippines through the annual Mabuhay Germany event. On its fourth year the Mabuhay German carries the theme “Winning Moments” to celebrate victorious events between the Philippines and German in its over 140 years of trade partnership. At the same time, it also signals the beginning of aiming to accomplish more ‘Winning Moments’ through the partnership of Philippine and German communities.
Adding another milestone in the history of German-Philippine partnership is the signing of a Memorandum of Agreement on Cooperation between Taguig City, Philippines and Freiburg City, Federal Republic of Germany, which was fostered by Robert Bosch Inc. Philippines and facilitated by the German-Philippine Chamber of Commerce and Industry Inc. The agreement paves the way for the two cities to collaborate in social, technological and environmental programs that will benefit the communities of the two cities. The programs will focus on the areas of clean energy, CO2 reduction, climate change adaptation, disaster preparation, waste management, city planning and public transport system.
This and more winning moments are celebrated at the Mabuhay Germany coupled with activities that take guests to an authentic German experience. Beautifully set-up booths by the 35 participating German companies are set to showcase their winning moments. Goethe Institute München and the Federal Foreign Office of Germany brought the German Jazz band Hot Brownies in to the country to perform and share their music during the event Office of Germany. Both kids and adults will sure to enjoy the fun activities such as the scavenger hunt and table football competitions, games and learning modules for the entire family by Hänsel und Gretel Haus; a bazaar that showcase quality products “Made in Germany”; and a Car Expo showcasing the latest in German automobile technology.
