Birthdays are usually about receiving, but for EastWest Rural Bank (EWRB), their 12th anniversary was all about giving back to the communities that form the heart of the Filipino countryside. Instead of a traditional corporate gala, EWRB spent the month of November traveling to remote and typhoon-affected areas to bring much-needed smiles to hundreds of students and teachers.
From November 5 to 20, 2025, the EWRB team visited public schools across Regions 5, 6, 7, and 11—areas recently challenged by Typhoons Tino and Uwan. The outreach program reached 590 eager learners and 49 dedicated teachers, transforming typical school days into moments of celebration. The children were treated to their favorite Jollibee meals, creative drawing and coloring kits, rice packs for their families, and special EWRB giveaways.
"Our team wanted to celebrate this milestone by reaching out to schools that needed a boost after the recent typhoons," shared Sheila Marasigan-Bajado, President of EastWest Rural Bank. "It’s about being present in the communities we serve. We are incredibly grateful to the educators and local leaders who welcomed us into their classrooms."
The mission covered five key schools across the archipelago, including Lipata and San Isidro Elementary Schools in Masbate, Cudian Elementary in Capiz, Combado Elementary in Bogo City, and Cayawan Elementary in Davao Oriental. By bringing the party to these far-flung areas, EWRB reaffirmed its commitment to being more than just a bank—it’s a partner in recovery and growth for the underserved Filipino family.
