I attended the opening of UNIQLO’s newest branch at Greenhills Mall in San Juan on September 19, 2025. I experienced firsthand how the brand continues to bring its timeless LifeWear to more Filipinos. This is UNIQLO’s 80th store in the Philippines, and its location inside Greenhills Mall feels like a natural fit. Greenhills has always been renowned for its diverse range of shopping options, and the addition of a UNIQLO store now makes it easier for shoppers to find high-quality, everyday clothing all in one place.
Walking into the store, I immediately noticed how organized and easy to navigate it was. The displays featured UNIQLO’s signature staples, clean, functional, and versatile pieces that work for different ages and lifestyles. The LifeWear concept really stood out to me. These are not just clothes for fashion but pieces designed for comfort and longevity, which makes them a great option for everyday wear.
During the opening week, the store offered exclusive discounts on some of UNIQLO’s most loved items. Shoppers could get the Pocketable UV Protection Parka at a lower price of ₱1,490 from its usual ₱1,990, and both Women’s Wide Trouser Jeans and Men’s Wide Straight Jeans were marked down to ₱1,490. Even UT shirts were available at ₱590 instead of ₱790. These deals covered not only adult sizes but also select items for kids and babies, which I thought was a thoughtful inclusion for families shopping together.
There were also fun touches during the launch. For purchases worth ₱3,000 in a single receipt, shoppers received a free UNIQLO Lunch Bag, a practical little bonus for everyday use. And for three days, from September 19 to 21, visitors could take part in a gachapon game to win vouchers from San Juan community favorites like Bun Run, 717 Deli, Chocfull of Nuts, and Hainan Guy. It added a nice local flavor to the event and showed how UNIQLO is connecting with its surrounding community.
One of the things I appreciated most about the opening was seeing UNIQLO’s ongoing sustainability efforts in action. They partnered with the San Juan-based Performing Arts and Recreation Center (PARC) Foundation to provide LifeWear items and a day of fun for its youth beneficiaries. It’s not just about opening stores but also about making a positive impact on the community.
Before the official opening, UNIQLO App members were invited to special pre-opening activities, including a UTme! Kids Art Workshop led by artist Christel Tiu, up to 50% discounts from partner establishments, and even a mug painting session with Studio Matisse. This kind of early access created a sense of anticipation and showed how the brand values its loyal customers.
Overall, it’s a thoughtfully designed space with clothing that genuinely makes everyday dressing easier.
