Discover the Antigravity A1, the world’s first 8K 360 drone developed with Insta360. Learn how its immersive controls, lightweight design, and creative shooting features are changing drone storytelling.
The world of drone photography is about to take a significant leap with the arrival of the Antigravity A1, the first drone capable of capturing 8K 360-degree footage. Co-developed by Insta360 and its partners, this innovative flying camera combines immersive aerial storytelling with intuitive controls, opening up a range of creative possibilities for content creators, travelers, and even first-time pilots.

At just 249 grams, the A1 is lightweight enough to fly license-free in many countries, making it a travel-friendly choice for spontaneous adventures. The compact size means you can carry it in your bag and launch it in seconds, perfect for creators who want to capture moments without complicated setups.
What makes the A1 stand out is its dual-lens system, with cameras mounted on the top and bottom for complete, blind-spot-free 360 capture. This design enables the unique “invisible drone effect,” where advanced image stitching makes the drone itself disappear from footage. When viewed through the included Vision goggles, the experience feels like you’re floating through the air with no machine in sight.
Instead of traditional joysticks, the A1 introduces a Grip controller paired with head-tracked Vision goggles. This setup separates viewing from flying, meaning you can look in one direction while moving in another. Using FreeMotion technology, you control flight with natural hand gestures, giving you an immersive experience that feels more like exploring than piloting.
For creators, the A1’s post-flight reframing is a game-changer. Since footage is captured in 8K 360, you can later choose your preferred angles, reframe shots, and export in any aspect ratio without losing quality. Whether you want cinematic FPV-style footage, Tiny Planet views, horizon flips, or smooth tracking shots, the A1 makes it possible without advanced editing skills.
Safety and ease of use are also built in. The drone includes return-to-home functionality and a payload detection system that prevents misuse or unsafe modifications. These features make it beginner-friendly while still offering pro-level creative potential.

According to Antigravity’s Head of Marketing, BC Nie, the A1 isn’t just another drone; it’s a new way to fly. “We wanted to create something safe, intuitive, expressive, and endlessly creative,” he said.
The Antigravity A1 is set for a global launch in January 2026, with pricing and bundle options to be revealed soon. Given its mix of portability, immersive controls, and unique 360 capabilities, this drone could become a must-have tool for vloggers, adventure travelers, and anyone who wants to capture the world from a fresh perspective.
