The HONOR Magic V5 is rumored to feature a 6,100mAh battery, Snapdragon Elite processor, and an ultra-slim foldable design.
HONOR is gearing up to launch its next-generation foldable smartphone, the Magic V5, and early leaks suggest some significant upgrades over its predecessor. The device recently passed certifications on platforms like China’s MIIT and 3C under the model number MHB-AN10, and it’s already generating buzz in the tech world.
One of the biggest highlights is the rumored battery upgrade. Tipsters claim the Magic V5 will feature a typical battery capacity of 6,100mAh, which is about 20% more than the previous Magic V model. That’s a substantial increase for any smartphone, especially a foldable. This upgrade not only positions the Magic V5 ahead of its predecessor but also gives it an edge over the upcoming vivo X Fold5, which is expected to pack a 6,000mAh battery. According to leaks, HONOR's foldable will have a 100mAh advantage.

The battery boost is made possible by the adoption of Si/C (silicon-carbon) battery cells, a technology increasingly used in China to provide higher capacity without increasing the size. This means users can expect longer battery life without sacrificing the sleek form factor. In fact, despite the bigger battery, the Magic V5 is expected to be under 9mm thick when folded, thinner than the 9.2mm Magic V3.
Under the hood, the HONOR Magic V5 is said to be powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon Elite processor, as hinted by HONOR's Mobile Product Manager, Li Kun. This chipset is part of Qualcomm’s top-tier lineup, so users can expect fast performance, improved AI processing, and better power efficiency.
In terms of display, the Magic V5 may come with a 6.45-inch LTPO OLED external screen and an 8-inch internal foldable display. Both are expected to support a high refresh rate of up to 120Hz, providing smooth scrolling and an immersive viewing experience, whether the phone is open or closed.
Photography looks promising, too. Leaks point to a powerful camera setup, led by a 50MP main sensor with optical image stabilization. This will be complemented by a 200MP periscope telephoto lens and an ultrawide camera, offering flexibility for different shooting scenarios.
The software experience is also shaping up to be modern and fluid, with Magic OS 9 based on Android 15 expected to power the device. Magic OS is known for its customization options and seamless multitasking features, which are crucial for foldable phones.
HONOR hasn’t officially confirmed the release date, but with certifications already in place, the Magic V5 could be announced in the coming weeks. If the leaks hold true, it’s shaping up to be one of the most competitive foldables of 2025, combining powerful hardware, extended battery life, and a slim design in a single device.
Stay tuned for more updates as the official launch approaches. The HONOR Magic V5 might just be the foldable phone to beat this year.
