[Food] Chikaan Sa Cebu Filipino Restaurant

I don't' remember the last time I went to Cebu and where I ate but glad that there's a restaurant serving authentic Filipino cuisine. Chika-an sa Cebu Filipino Restaurant opens  their latest branch at Mall of Asia. Chikaan takes pride in giving Filipinos a taste of Cebu for over 30 years. The type of food they serve would be the ones that remind you of your lola's or nanay's cooking.

Initial impressions would be the warm & welcoming ambiance paired with their authentic dishes. You can see touches of the color blue everywhere, even in the photos displayed with Cebu landmarks. The blue hue gives a feeling of calmness & peace. Which I would have to agree. Some modernized native theme can be seen on the lights, walls, interiors & tones in the place. 

Their food has a selection of what you would expect in a traditional Filipino restaurant. Sinigang, Tinola, Dinuguan, scallops, salads, pork BBQ, sizzling & so much more.  Here are some of the dishes I was able to try some of their dishes.

Another thing I liked is their Chorizo de Cebu which is a very tasty wrapped in what I think is bacon? You can check out the rest of their menu here. Of course, a meal wouldn't be complete if there's no dessert so here are some halo-halo choices for you. Priced at P 110 and you can choose from corn & corn flakes, Ube Quezo & Banana Lanka.

Overall the experience I had there was pleasing. It's nice that there's another Filipino restaurant offering these classic dished staying true to its heritage & authentic dishes. Priced affordably, this is a restaurant you'd want to try out if you want every bite to hit home.
