Oppo unveils Super VOOC Flash Charge and SmartSensor Image Stabilization

OPPO Unveils Super-Fast 15-Minute Flash Charge and World’s First SmartSensor Image Stabilization Tech at the Mobile World Congress 2016 in Barcelona.

That's right, you read it right, with the Super VOOC Flash Charge, you can charge full in just 15 minutes! The breakthrough innovation brought to us by the wonderful people from Oppo shares that they invest great effort in technological innovation. Last 2014 OPPO introduced the VOOC Flash charge, now this one they released this year is definitely an improvement from giving us 2 hours of talk time with only 5 minutes of charge. The next level VOOC offers a full 10 hours of talk time with 5 minutes of charging and filling the 2500 mAh battery in only 15 minutes. Now this feature we haven't seen before.

If you want more and to discuss in a more technical way, the Super VOOC Flash Charge uses a 5V low-voltage pulse-charge algorithm which ensures a low-temperature charge that's safe for the battery and dynamically  regulating the current to charge the phone in shortest time possible. New battery and new adapter, cable and connector made using premium military-grade materials. It supports Micro USB or type-C interfaces.

If you're wondering if it's safe, they say that it is pretty safe. You can use the phone while it's charging like watching an HD video or playing games. Other quick charge technologies doesn't support this.

Another breakthrough presented by OPPO is the first ever sensor-based, pixel-level optical image stabilizer. SmartSensor Image Stabilization. The camera features and quality has been one of the features considered by users in choosing their smartphones. Oppo now is focusing its sights on the image stabilization issue. All previous solutions in this category were lens-based. OPPO is relying on a groundbreaking MEMS (micro-electro-mechanical system)

OPPO’s SmartSensor is the first-ever sensor-based solution for smartphones, as well as the smallest optical image stabilizer of any kind in the world! Existing lens-based stabilizers can only correct for vibrations on two axes of motions, the pitch axis and yaw axis, even though the most common type of unwanted shaking during photography actually takes place on the roll axis. SmartSensor solves this problem, allowing for image stabilization on three axes, pitch, yaw and the all-important roll. Making split-second adjustments with its comb-shaped monocrystalline silicon MEMS, SmartSensor achieves full three-axis image stabilization in a mere 15 milliseconds.

Now was that a mouthful? Yeah, my mind just exploded with all that info. In a nut shell, what Oppo is saying is that this is one of the most advanced and powerful SmartSensor in the market now. It reduces power consumption as low as 10 milliwatts.

Lens-based systems, with their increased power consumption, can quickly heat up the module, affecting image quality, especially during extended photo shoots. But the low power consumption of the fine-tuned MEMS keeps temperatures low and preserves image quality even in long shooting sessions.

With SmartSensor, OPPO smartphones become like pocket-sized SLR cameras. Even when lighting conditions aren’t ideal, such as at a party or concert, SmartSensor ensures clear and bright images by allowing a longer exposure time.

I'm excited to try out their new phones and test out these features. Stay tuned for more updates on OPPO and their new gadgets to be released this year.
