Mall of Asia International Food Festival

By September 05, 2014 , , , , ,

With Over 50 participating restaurants, the Mall of Asia takes our taste buds on a trip around the world with their International Food Festival happening on September 5 to 30. Foodies will be treated with gourmet international delights from participating restaurants. Each restaurant will be preparing an exclusive dish which will only be available for the whole of the celebration

For example, the restaurant that we visited was Tempura Japanese Grill located at the side of Hypermarket in the North Wing. Known for their signature Japanese dishes, tempura and Japanese style grill.

With my friends, we tried the restaurant’s best sellers like their Ebi Tempura, Sukiyaki, Kaisen Rai Su, Salmon Miso Glazed and their special International Food Festival dish the Dragon Roll.

Behold. The Dragon Roll. This exclusive dish is made composed of Black Tiger Prawn with mayo deep fried breaded tempura style with mango, cucumber, teriyaki sauce, with grilled salmon skin deep topped with fried chuma. Which is deep fried  radish and carrots. To make us short. Yummy.

Sukiyaki which is a combination of vegetables, beef tenderloin, onion leeks, with  their special sukiyaki sauce is one of their best sellers. Serves 4 people. Kaisen Rai Su also one of their favorite rice dishes is the Japanese version of their spicy fried rice.

Their brand product Tempura didn't disappoint. You would think that it's deep fried but its not it was good! The Salmon Miso Glazed was my highlight. Why? because I love salmon! :)

Not only does Tempura offer delicious and authentic dishes but they also have nice beverage selections.

for their dessert, we had the Chocolate Ganache Mousse Cake. If you're into chocolate desserts. Then this one is for you.

Trying to save some space, we headed quickly to Sbarro which is located at their Main Mall.  Sbarro which has been in the country for almost 25 years and has more than 44 branches just here in the Philippines. The first amongst Asian countries to franchise from abroad. Sbarro has been serving us authentic and traditional pizza and pasta bringing out the Italian's in us.

I personally liked their Baked Ziti, adding meat sauce or sometimes meatballs. My go to pizza is the white. Simple and fills my need. :) But this time, Sbarro had us try their other specialties. Btw, the items of Sbarro are all new.

This is the Spaghetti Pomodoro with Italian Sausage. The rich tomato sauce compliments well with its garlicy taste. The basil adds a nice touch and the Italian sausage adds the right bit and balance to the whole dish. :) I think I will be trying more of the Pomodoro next time. :)

Next up is their Sicilian Square Pizza with Sopresata.

Sopresata is also known as spicy salami. They used fresh tomatoes and roasted garlic. No tricks here. Just quality fresh ingredients. :)

These may look few to you but they were filling! of course we wouldn't finish a meal without any dessert. Mr. Frederick Salvador who is the president of Super Salute Foods joined us from the start and presented their new dessert Cinnamon Rolls.

One of the best Cinnamon Roll I had. I think. The cream cheese frosting was good but I'm sticking with the caramel frosting. :) Soon to be available in your favorite Sbarro branches.

If you are craving for fresh and homemade pastas and pizza, and want something authentic. You can't go wrong with Sbarro.

After Sbarro, we still had room for more (surprisingly) We headed to Krispy Kreme and witnessed how they made their world famous donuts!

From dough making, mixing, cooking, filling and glazing! amazing how these munchable snacks are made. Interestingly delicious.

Thank you Krispy Kreme for educating us on how your donuts are made. :) We had fun!

Now that's just three places that we visited. Imaging Mall of Asia having more than 50 restaurant participating in this International Food Festival. How's that for Food trip?

Well if you're the type who wants to prepare these dishes at home, customers can participate in the live cooking demos conducted by top chefs on four select restaurants. The restaurants are Tempura and Sbarro on September 5, Claw Daddy, New Orleans and Vikings on September 12, 5:30 onwards. :)

Aside fro the food, there will be promos! Diners can win exciting prizes in the Special Eats promo which is a Social Media contest for those tech and online savy foodies.
