After a very successful first cycle which saw a lone Filipina contestant make it all the way to the finale, an all-new season of Asia’s Next Top Model is finally set to premiere on TV5 on January 16.

Back again at the forefront of all the fashion and beauty is host and head judge, Nadya Hutagalung, together with the Philippines’ very own Joey Mead-King, who will still be part of the judges’ panel and act as the contestants’ mentor. TV5 is proud to have Joey Mead-King in the prestigious international contest as she is also a Kapatid, being a Style and Beauty columnist in Kristn.com, TV5’s lifestyle portal.

Joining them this time are two renowned icons in the international modeling industry—runway coach Adam Williams and fashion and celebrity photographer Mike Rosenthal—who will definitely add to the excitement and drama in the competition’s second cycle.

And just like the inaugural season, the Philippines is once again represented in this regional model search. This time around, there are two Pinay beauties who are ready to work the runway and come out on top – Jodilly “Jody” Pendre and Katarina “Kat” Rodriguez.

At the age of 20, Jody already acts as the breadwinner, relying on modeling to support her family and put herself and her brother through school. This go-getter morena beauty, who one day dreams to become a Victoria’s Secret Angel, describes herself as a “simple girl who is always up for life’s challenges”.

On the other hand, 21 year old Filipina-American Kat proves that models, too, can embody beauty, brains, and brawn as she currently majors in both philosophy and business management, while being part of her university’s track and field team. This mestiza beauty, who is the god-child of Filipina supermodel and style icon Tweetie de Leon-Gonzalez, admits that she is a “huge risk-taker and extremely adventurous”.

Aside from carrying the distinct Filipina looks that will surely set both Jodi and Kat apart from the 14 other aspiring model finalists, these two young ladies also have inspiring stories that a lot of the viewers can relate to.

Be sure to tune in to TV5 beginning this Thursday, January 16, after For Love or Money and follow the show every Thursday thereafter, to witness if either Jody or Kat will be able to finally take home the grand prize for our country and come out on top as Asia’s Next Top Model!
